Qualification Rankings Update – September 30th
With the USDGC right around the corner the Disc Golf World Tour qualification rankings were shuffled in the latest update today. Ricky Wysocki continues his upward curve in the top and extends his lead over the 2nd ranked Paul McBeth. We do have a new #3 though as Seppo Paju makes his way to the top 3 as a result of the 2nd place finish at the final leg of the 2016 Euro Tour. This update could be titled as the rise of the Finns as Paju’s countrymen follow suit!
Juho Parviainen continues to climb the rankings at a steady pace – in this update he gains three spots and is now #4 in rankings. Another player to maintain his stride is Pasi Koivu, who makes his top 10 appearance as #10. All in all that brings the total number of Finns in the top 10 to four with Teemu Nissinen at 7th spot with one place improvement to his previous standing, However, it’s not just the Finns who improve their positions at the very top. Eagle McMahon is now at 9th place after gaining one spot.
There’s only one more DGWT qualification rankings update left in 2016, which is the USDGC rankings update scheduled for next week. The USDGC players list is loaded with top pros from all over the world, we’re looking forward to some big changes in the rankings. After the next update we’ll know the top 100 players who’ll be invited to register for the 2017 DGWT season opening event.
This update includes only one event addition – Strudengau Open 2016, the final tournament of the 2016 Euro Tour, points were added to the rankings. Points for following events expired: Hall of Fame Classic 2015, Strudengau Open 2015, Amsterdam Open 2015 and Belgian Open 2015. Check the rankings page for full rankings.
DGWT standings and qualification rankings explained
Please note that the DGWT qualification rankings and the DGWT standings are two separate things. The DGWT rankings refer to the qualification rankings, which include several significant disc golf events, e.g. DGWT events, National Tour, PDGA Majors, and many more. Rankings are used for qualification for DGWT events and are not the actual standings of the DGWT. More information about the DGWT rankings and standings available on the points system and rules pages.
