Qualification Rankings Update – September 1st
The latest Disc Golf World Tour qualification rankings update brought us new #1 ranked player, Ricky Wysocki. The top 2 remains the same in today’s update with Wysocki extending his lead slightly. Paul McBeth remains as a close 2nd. But the rest of the top 10 is very different from what we have seen earlier!
Wysocki and McBeth have been battling it out through the 2017 season and are currently in their own league in the DGWT rankings. However, starting from the 3rd position the pack becomes a tighter bundle, which is more prone to changes between ranking updates. The 3rd spot is currently held by Nate Sexton who has secured if for himself with his steady performance in nearly every event he has participated – and he has been touring actively this season.
4 Europeans In Top 10
This update brings big changes in the top 10. Three players make their first appearance in the top 10: Juho Parviainen (#7), Teemu Nissinen (#8) and Eagle McMahon (#10). Together with Seppo Paju at 4th place and Karl Johan Nybo as #5 four out of 10 players in the top 10 are from Europe, which is a new record. All four Europeans and McMahon shot up the rankings impressively. Parviainen made the biggest jump all the way from 14th place!
All top Europeans spurted in the DGWT rankings with their stellar performances in the European Disc Golf Championships last weekend. In this update the PDGA Pro Worlds points were updated from 2015 championship event to 2016 edition, Ledgestone Open 2015 points expired, Brent Hambrick Memorial Open 2016 and European Disc Golf Championships 2016 points were added. DGWT standings and qualification rankings explained
Please note that the DGWT qualification rankings and the DGWT standings are two separate things. The DGWT rankings refer to the qualification rankings, which include several significant disc golf events, e.g. DGWT events, National Tour, PDGA Majors, and many more. Rankings are used for qualification for DGWT events and are not the actual standings of the DGWT. More information about the DGWT rankings and standings available on the points system and rules pages.
