DGWT Rankings April 6th Update

The Disc Golf World Tour rankings were updated yesterday. The top 10 remained exactly the same but there’s more to it if you dig a bit deeper than just the surface.

Seppo Paju earns his spot in the top 10

Despite the top 10 remaining the same in the last couple updates there has been a small change a while ago when Jeremy Koling took over Seppo Paju at the 9th place in the end of February update. At that time points earned at the EuroTour 2015 opening event, The Battle at Bluebell Woods, expired. Paju lost a hefty sum of 400 points but stayed in the top 10.

Again Paju retained his top 10 position by being one of the three European players in the top 20 at the inaugural Disc Golf World Tour event at La Mirada – the others were Simon Lizotte and Karl Johan Nybo, both finished tied for 7th. Finally Paju secured his spot as the DGWT rankings #10 last weekend by repeating his 2015 victory at the Dutch Open.

Rankings shuffled just before European Masters registration

The next rankings update is scheduled for April 20th and that focuses on European players again. The 2015 Copenhagen Open points expire and new points are up for grabs at the 2016 edition of the Copenhagen Open, which is the second stop of this year’s EuroTour.

The timing of the update is quite fitting as the registration for the European Masters begins a day later on April 21st. Being in the top 100 in DGWT rankings has it’s perks as these players get an invitation to register for all World Tour events in the first phase of registration.
